How do I get acceptable photographs of my property?
I would like to give you some information about property photography.
If you don't have a digital camera of your own, borrow one
– together with the instruction manual and
you will also need a tripod.
1. set the resolution to approximately 1024 x 768 pixel
2. set the modus on program – not automatic –
if you are able, set Av modus, that means,
you set the aperture (F8) and the camera chooses
the shutter speed
3. set the film speed to 100 ASA
4. set the white balance on automatic
5. make sure that the auto focus mode is activated
6. make sure that the built-in flash is deactivated
– we work with natural light
7. check your batteries and the space on your memory chip
8. connect the camera in a horizontal position on the tripod
9. set the self timer to about 10 seconds
Now we are ready for our property photo session :
Take photos from the outside of the property – corners and frontal – all sides.
Photos from garden, carport, garage, terrace, pool, BBQ, etc. –
if possible, always with sun in the back or cloudy sky.
If you take the inside photos, try to ensure that the contrast to the outside
light is as low as possible. It is best to shoot in the morning and/or
the evening. Switch on the lamps – but in such a way that they don't
shine in your lens.
Always use the wide angle position on your zoom.
Take photos of built-in furniture and accessories.
Fireplace, stairs, terrace windows / doors, etc.
If possible, photograph every room from two or three positions.
Check the quality of your photos. We can sharpen them only up to a
certain level – the same goes for the brightness.
If you are not happy, please do it once more …
buyers like to see a lot of nice photos.
